So lets see how the westerly winds swirled out in:
1. The Dot. Holy smokes is everyone at the T(oronto) Sports Network breathing easier tonight. Along with the rest of the GTA, as both Dion Phaneuf and J.S. Gigeure both had a stunning game in their collective debut with the Leafs. In his first period at the ACC as the home barn, Phaneuf kicked over the kerosene and tilted Colin White. Gigeure, not to be outdone, garnered a shut out. Even Freddie Sjostrom got an assist and the brand new trio went 1-2-3 as stars of the game. And this was all against Marty and the Devils no less. I'm actually afraid to turn on the TSN tomorrow.
2. La Ville. Oh. The Sedin line did it's thing, but apparently a hot Halak shut us down. Anyone else getting a little antsy about our Olympic net minders? I'm not saying that the GM Place roof is falling, I'm sure Brodeur and Bob will be fine. But they're both underperforming lately whilst some of these other goalies are hottin' it up. The Skip, First Mate, Muskoka and I will have pleasure of watching Halak backstop Slovakia in the first round against Latvia unless I can hustle and/or luck out and get four seats to a more meaningful contest. 47 saves to Bob's 28 tonight!!!!
What if this happens in the quarter finals?
